From the parking lot we go straight towards the Murau Hütte, from there we take a leisurely walk towards the cheese dairy and the hunting lodge.
After a walk of about 15 minutes we reach the wooden huts, enjoy a sip of hot tea and the beautiful nature. Continue past the huts on the left and you will enter the forest.
The trail leads through the sparse woodland, always slightly steeply uphill, to the socalled "edge". If you let your eyes wander to the right, you can recognise the slopes of the old skiing area.
A prominent landmark is the barbed wire fence leading away from there, which we continue to follow. In this way, we actually walk along the ridge south-westwards towards the summit. The important thing is that the fence should always be on your left.
On days with low precipitation, it is possible that the snow on the plateau is drifted, in this case you have to carrying your skis a few metres to the summit.
After about 1 1/2 hours of walking, you will reach your final point and the highest spot at 1,997 m.
Once here, we suggest you breathe deeply and fill your lungs with the cleanest and most fresh oxygen and savour the amazing view. And this is exactly when the feeling of delight comes over you.
